female neil young covers galore coming up

So it seems that next year you can get two whole discs full of various female covers of Neil Young-songs, which could be good news if you’re a Neil Young-fan (but then, if you are a Neil Young-fan, you could also consider it horrible news, considering your disposition towards artists such as Tanya Donelly, the Watson Twins and Veruca Salt).

What caught my eye more than the musical side of it, though, was the charity side of it. Apparently proceeds will go to Casting For Recovery, a foundation that provides fly fishing retreats, specifically designed for women who have or have had breast cancer. I mean, seriously, donating money to provide fly fishing for women with breast cancer? When you could save millions of children in Africa with just some clean water and mosquito nets?

Oh, but hey, that couldn’t happen to ME and everybody knows people in Africa are, like, not quite as important as Westerners anyway so who gives a shit.
