The Saints of Los Angeles didn’t turn me on… sorry to say

As usual, Agneta is the one in our crowd who always knows everything and are kind enough to share her knowledge. I think it was yesterday when she tipped me off that Mötley Crüe had released a teaser of a single from their new album “Dirt”. I tried to open and listen, with mixed feelings…. anxiety, fear and a small hope.. but the shit didn’t work!!! Well, sometimes I use the few braincells I have and went to Youtube a few hours later and found it…… I listened and then went for the comments….. And this is some excerpts from what I´ve found:

“WOW sounds like the good old times – easily the best since feelgood” – I do agree… mostly because that really doesn’t mean anything at all….

“THIS IS AWESOME! souds like someting from the 80’s” – yeah, correct again… but I thought that it was Sebastian Bach and Skidrow who copied Mötley and not the other way around?

“Holy fucken’ Mother of God, the Crue still rock like there’s no tomorrow. Shit, they always have, always will, they bloody well RULE, wheeehoooooo. Come to mama, babies, I’ll take good care of you. Hot damn, now I’m fricken’ hornier than hell, lol. MUAHHH!!! ! – I don´t wanna spoil the party but hey grrrl…… you seem to have an even dryer period in life than I…

“UGGHHHH!!! I came so much!- this guy should really hook up with the grrrl above..

“Great song. Everything I wanted from new Motley Crue” - well, good for you… I guess it is pretty clear right now that my hopes were higher than this…. I want more of everything, its too catchy and candy-pop-like for me…. guess I wanted it to be rougher .. but hey! there are still more to come… I´ll try to be positive…

listen and enjoy (or weep), I´ll leave that up to you…

Love/Inga

  1. OK, the new Crue didn’t float your boat…what does? To me, it’s a return to good hard rock. Very few new bands are this good, and most old bands are trying to update their sound to something that doesn’t work for them.

  2. Old Crue rocks my boat in a very nice way, picks me up and gives me a ride in a roller-coaster…. and it was that feeling that I hoped for again…. something that didn’t come under the category easy-listening….

and maybe, just maybe… I thought that Nikki after The Heroin Diaries would come back to Mötley with heavier material and sound….

  3. Uh, gosh… I so need to agree with you… I have mix feelings but the song didn’t kind of struck as the old good classic albums… but in order to make my final decision I want to wait and listen to the all album… At the end of the day, I am a huge Motley fan and surely I’ll get used to the new sound ;-)

That should put across my views quite nicely, so go on read it, then tell me what you think, im always up for a chat about one of my favourite bands :P

  5. I love the song “SOLA” as soon as I heard it. The rest of the album, not so much. But I have listened to it several times since I got it, and several of the tracks are growing on me. As good as “Dr. Feelgood”? No. But still a very Crue album, and one that I will be listening to quite a bit.
