Vintage Swedish Models
…all the way

back in the day…

…we only had two TV-channels here in Sweden. TV 1 and TV 2. They showed cartoons once a year on Christmas Eve for a whole hour and sometimes American series like Taxi and Cagney and Lacey. But not like every day. Back then, the idea of the internet was just an itch at the back of the brains of a bunch nerds (like, what if you could like hook up all the computers and, you know, watch PORN!) and people still thought that prohibitng people from doing stuff actually kept them from doing it.

In this clip, from a news show called “Rapport”, the issue discussed is how disco music is killing the careers of musicians playing in dance orchestras and they are seriously suggesting that you should be forced to pay “disco tax” and that places without live music shouldn’t be allowed to serve alcohol.

If you don’t get what they say, just check out the fashion show.

I love the attitude of the club owner who’s like: “I’ll never play crap music no matter what they do to me. Disco rulezzz!” And dude with the bib overall, did you ever consider that maybe you’ll have to flip burges AND play guitar? Others have been know to survive that, you know. And a lot of them actually played GOOD music too.

I mean seriously – dansband… Yeeesh.
